Open Dress Rehearsals The open dress rehearsals unofficially started 2 years ago and were officially made into a program last year in 2006. This program is aimed more towards the middle school range or musicians. It is opened to high school students as well. This program is helpful because the students get to see how a dress rehearsal is run. They get to see the level of concentration the musicians up on stage have, and they can take note of how serious they take the rehearsal. It is a chance for them to get to observe how the musicians are listening to the conductor, marking in what the conductor or section leader added, or playing like you are performing for an audience at all times. The students are able to talk to the musicians during the break. |
